The Health Quality Council (HQC) is collaborating with researchers from the University of Saskatchewan (U of S) on several projects that could directly impact the health of residents in this province.
The project topics include: measuring the quality of care for inflammatory bowel disease patients; measuring the cost effectiveness of lung cancer screening; measuring health care utilization in the period leading up to a multiple sclerosis diagnosis; and the effects of vitamin D supplementation in long-term care on hip fractures.

Saskatchewan’s Health Quality Council (HQC) is looking for an individual with a unique blend of project management and policy analysis competencies to support the work of the provincial Safety Alert/Stop the Line initiative. This is an opportunity to work with safety leaders from across Saskatchewan and to lead the development and implementation of a complex, system-wide improvement initiative. Note: HQC is open to secondments from other organizations.

The Health Quality Council (HQC) was recently selected to make a presentation at a highly regarded international conference for professionals using SAS statistical software.
HQC researcher Meric Osman gave a talk at the SAS Global Forum 2015, which was held in Dallas, Texas, from April 26 to April 29. The annual conference describes itself as “the premier worldwide event for SAS professionals” and gives attendees the opportunity to “connect with the best and brightest SAS experts from around the world.”
The Saskatchewan Health Quality Council (HQC) is introducing some of its employees, and the work they do to help improve the province’s health system, through the Meet the Researcher/Meet the Research Analyst series. The May 2015 edition features Nianping Hu.
A paper about Releasing Time to CareTM written by Saskatchewan Health Quality Council (HQC) researchers, in conjunction with international collaborators, was accessed online nearly 1,300 times in the three months since it was published in an open-access, peer-reviewed health journal.
