The Health Quality Council is looking for an individual with a passion for working with health care leaders and providers to improve the quality and delivery of health services in Saskatchewan. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated a unique combination of careful attention to detail, experience in developing and using measurement for improvement and a passion for helping people with diverse expertise to achieve a common goal by using facilitative change management approaches.
As a Kaizen Specialist you contribute to our health system transformation by:
• Supporting the implementation of the Saskatchewan Health Care Management System (modeled on Toyota’s Global Production System) throughout the province.
• Leading and supporting Improvement events and delivering training across the province (e.g., Rapid Process Improvement Workshops (RPIWs); 5S Campaigns, Training Within Industry, etc.) as assigned by the PKPO Director, commensurate with the incumbent’s level of skill and training.
• Supporting the development and implementation of a provincial visual management system and measurement systems to monitor service line performance, strategic health system performance, and the impact of improvement activities across the province.
Candidates who have not already completed or are not currently engaged in the Lean Leader Certification program (John Black and Associates) will be enrolled in that program at the earliest possible date.
This position involves travel out of the office to various parts of the province an average of five days per month. This position is full-time.

Although HQC’s office is located in Saskatoon, as a provincial resource, HQC is open to discussion on locating this position elsewhere in the province.
HQC will also entertain a one to two year secondment agreement for individuals that may be looking to augment their Lean skills and expertise at a provincial level.
