Following an extensive national executive search, Tracey Sherin has been announced as the new CEO of Saskatchewan’s Health Quality Council (HQC) effective September 30, 2019.
“Tracey’s proven track record in health care improvement will make her a valued health system leader and partner,” said Dr. Susan Shaw, HQC’s board chair. “She has consistently grown as a leader throughout her career with HQC while demonstrating her commitment to continuous improvement, building effective partnerships, and strong and successful relationships. On behalf of the board, we are all looking forward to supporting her in her new role as CEO of our organization.”
Sherin first joined HQC in April 2005 as a researcher and later became the Director of Data Analysis and Research Partnerships at HQC. Early in her career, Sherin was recognized for her expertise as a researcher in quality improvement.
Sherin holds a Bachelor of Science (high honours) in microbiology and immunology from the University of Saskatchewan and a Master of Science in health care and epidemiology from the University of British Columbia. She has also completed the Advanced Training Program in Health Care Delivery Improvement from Intermountain Healthcare in Salt Lake City, Utah.
“I am happy to be stepping into the CEO role at the Health Quality Council,” said Sherin. “I look forward to working with our staff, partners, and communities to continue to improve health and health care for the people of Saskatchewan.”
